Why you ask? Because it is a win win situation. Because it is a wonderful opportunity & experience. And because it reminds me to appreciate & respect life.

My mission is to run the Disney 2004 Marathon (26.2 miles) January 11th. I am raising funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I want to honor Kaylee Hanks for her current struggle with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia and honor those who have fought & still fighting other forms of cancer. My goal is to raise $3144 dollars for the society. I am training everyday and mentally preparing myself to finish strong.

FUNDRAISING: My current total is $783 dollars. Future fundraising events include selling mardi gras beads at the Virginia Tech homecoming game "Help Bead Leukemia", Krispy Kreme doughnut sale outside Wal-mart, 50/50 raffle at the local bowling alley, and a possible silent auction. Wish me luck!

TRAINING: My long Saturday runs are up to 12 miles. I am still running 3X a week at 4 miles each & doing yoga & spinning on my off days. No injuries to report & feeling great!
